A Proper Farewell to Michael

Micheal JacksonI wanted to wait posting something about Micheal Jackson until I could find something really interesting to actually share with y'all. I think I found it. The remix pioneers Eclectic Method, whom have worked with the likes of U2, Fatboy Slim, and Public Enemy, have created a pretty awesome career-spanning remix video.

Check it out.

Why I love Kelly Clarkson

OK, OK... I can't claim to own any of her albums or know any of her music, BUT I can say I do love the fact that she said what most of us are thinking about the idiotic Will.I.Am/Perez incident that's been plastered everywhere. Classic.

Hayao Miyazki’s 'Ponyo' Trailer

Check out the amazing trailer for Hayao Miyazaki's latest movie, Ponyo, which features the voice talents of Tina Fey, Cloris Leachman, Matt Damon, Liam Neeson, Lily Tomlin, and Cate Blanchett.

Miyazaki's movies are incredibly imaginative and epically beautiful (Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke, Howl's Moving Castle for example). This one centers on a 5-year-old boy named Sosuke and his relationship with a goldfish princess named Ponyo who longs to become human.

Gayish Predator

If there are two things I love, it's Predator, and making things seem gay.

Lucky for me, the fine people at Sequential Pictures have put together an entertaining redub of Predator, where all the characters have their gay lisp set to 11...

Also, check out their amusing redub of The Dark Crystal...

The Gossip - 'Heavy Cross'

beth ditto, gossip

Beth Ditto fronts the highly entertaining band Gossip. You may have seen her flaunting her curves on NME recently. Their first single off their new album, Music For Men, just came out. And although I can't say I love the video, I can say that I've been playing the song an unhealthy amount of times along with the few remixes I've been able to get my hands on.

Check it out. It's been the cause of more spontaneous dancing-in-my-boxers-moments than I care to admit here.

The Fred Falke Remix

Santigold at Stubbs

Santigold, StubbsSo last night I got to see Santigold at Stubb's in Austin, TX. It smacked of awesome. The pic above was the only one that remotely came out, but I can say it was a very fast paced, crowd-centric show and she certainly didn't disappoint. The show flew by as she hit on all of her songs from her first album, as well as a few remixes featured on the remix CD she did with Diplo.

Check out one of the tracks off of it (with Amanda Blank who opened for her last night).

PS - Coincidentally, I just discovered that the awesome dancing dude that started the now infamous dance party from the last post was shaking his groove thing to Santigold at the time! See what happened minutes before here.

It Just Takes One Person...

Seriously... I'm happy clips like this are on the internet. Being an avid music festival attendee, it's always cool to see something like this break out. It's rare, but does happen. This dude's grooving out leads to something very awesome and very special so be sure to watch. It'll give you a boost to make it through your day.

Basement Jaxx - 'Raindrops'

Basement Jaxx, Raindrops

Raindrops
is a sorta campy but ultimately awesome first single from the Basement Jaxx's forthcoming album Scars. Reported guest vocals supposedly include Grace Jones, Yoko Ono, Yo! Majesty, Lightspeed Champion, Cyndi Lauper, Santigold, and more so I'm pissed we have to wait until September until I can get my hands on it.

Until then, enjoy the psychedelic and slightly NSFW-ish first video...

Hammer Pants Flashmob

A flashmob invade a trendy store and surprise hipsters in skinny jeans. This is obviously trying to be a viral promotion for A&E's new MC Hammer reality show called Hammertime, which debuts this month, but I don't care. I laughed...

YouTwitFace

Now that it's again safe to watch The Tonight Show, I've really been enjoying Conan and Andy Richter together again. Check out a clip from last night's show where they revive their popular Year 2/3000 shtick.

Traditional Marriage Explained

America's Best Christian, Mrs Betty Bowers, takes time to explain to less informed Christians the curious details of the Lord's concept of marriage.

MGMT - 'Kids'

Although this song was the first from last year's album that got my attention it's apparently taken this long for them to release an 'official' video. As with their other videos, it's brilliantly bizarre and borders on child abuse...

"Kids" has proven to be some kind of monster with a life of its own, both an albatross and a plate of mac and cheese with fake bacon, and the process of creating this video was nearly as convoluted and veiny as the general style of this here letter of introduction. As Jerry Garcia once rudely remarked about the eventual and unavoidable filling in (with sand) of the historic United States Grand Canyon, "What a long strange rip it's been." - via - www.whoismgmt.com

Nekkid Webcam Window Fail

I have to admit to you that I sprayed my monitor with my beverage laughing at this.

I won't give away the highly amusing details but the basics are:
- Dog gives nekkid webcamer a 'doggy handshake.'
- Hilarity ensues...

A little black box makes it safe for work.
